BJU Press is an excellent Christian homeschool video curriculum with pre-recorded lessons and workbooks.
They offer a very open-and-go curriculumwith colorful workbooks students can do themselves with teacher instruction.
The program requires little prep, prioritizing academic rigor, critical thinking, and a biblical worldview.
This curriculum also engages children with hands-on learning, so children aren’t doing only textbook learning.
BJU Press is the program I use with my own children. We love it, and it has many good reviews from websites like The Homeschool Mom.
This program costs around $800 per student per year. Accreditation is at no extra charge.

Veritas Press – Free Consultation
Veritas Press is a classical Christian homeschool curriculum offering self-paced or online LIVE homeschool classes for children of all grades.
They have accredited courses with their Online Scholars Academy.
(Accreditation means less work for parents, making it a good homeschool curriculum for working parents.)
LIVE classes they offer include:

Night Zookeeper teaches children to compose before they can even read or write!
This program features many games and fun activities to get kids learning without even knowing it!
Its speech-to-text function helps them learn before writing and keeps them learning as they unlock various levels on the platform.
This program is VERY popular and effective, and many parents use it in place of screen-time.

Abeka
The Abeka homeschool curriculum is a popular video homeschool with parents who want to provide their children with a complete education from home.
Developed in 1972 by Arlin and Beka Horton, this Christian program provides K–12 materials that have been tried and tested for over 40 years.
Rooted in traditional educational practices, Abeka’s approach to instruction combines old-fashioned values with modern technology.
Like BJU Press, Abeka is a blended program with workbooks and pre-recorded video homeschool curriculum.

K12 – Online LIVE Classes with Public School
K12, a secular public school curriculum, is free if you’re American.
They offer a virtual video-based homeschool curriculum. There’s also LIVE online tutoring alongside their basic pre-recorded lessons curriculum.

True North Homeschool Academy
True North Homeschool Academy offers a program with an eclectic flavor with classical, and Charlotte Mason influences.
This program uses any technology that will work, such as animations and interactive technology (like quizzes and games).
They are affordable when it comes to LIVE online video-based homeschool curriculum. Still, it can be a little pricey because they offer such small class sizes.
Remember, they don’t offer accreditation (not a big deal for most homeschool families).
They offer the following elementary classes:

Compass Classroom – Subscription or Bought Product
Compass Classroom offers a few affordable LIVE online homeschool classes, including:
- Modern Literature LIVE – 29 lessons (1 Credit)
- American Literature LIVE and – 31 lessons (1 Credit)
- Civics: American Government’s History and Structure LIVE – 14 weekly classes (half credit)
They range from $250 to $ 325, which is cheap for LIVE lessons.
Compass Classroom is a classical homeschool curriculum that encourages critical thinking.
Their courses are visually attractive and engage students effectively.
I use their Visual Latin curriculum (pre-recorded homeschool videos) and love it.

Khan Academy
Khan Academy is a free online homeschool curriculum many people opt for.
It offers a tracking feature, monitoring student’s progress as they proceed.
I have used some of the videos from this site and found them both exciting and educational.
However, like many secular curricula, it does not have a Christian worldview or values, which may not be suitable for some parents.
Hippo Campus
Hippo Campus is a video curriculum designed for high-school and college-level students, similar to the Khan Academy.
It offers more than 7,000 videos across 13 subject areas. It is an open resource for public learning, meaning you don’t need to log in to access the content.
The secular curriculum is funded by Google Grants and the Bill and Melinda Foundation, as mentioned on their ‘About’ page.
Well-Trained Mind Academy
Trained Mind Academy provides accredited LIVE video homeschool classes primarily focusing on the classical homeschooling method.
Their curriculum includes courses in:
- Fine Arts,
- World Languages,
- History,
- Literature,
- Math,
- Science,
- Study Skills, and
- Writing & Grammar.
The fee structure is a $40 registration fee, $275 for clubs, $400-$465 for one-semester courses, and $700-$850 for full-year courses.
It is worth noting that Trained Mind Academy offers secular LIVE online classes.

Ignite Christian Academy
Did you know that Alpha Omega’s Ignite Christian Academy also offers LIVE online classes for students?
This is excellent news for homeschoolers who want to socialize with classmates and teachers in educational Zoom classes.
Ignite offers all the basics and a massive range of electives, such as:
- animal systems,
- STEM,
- Forensics,
- Civics,
- Languages,
- Career Management,
- Journalism,
- Music Appreciation,
- Health, Nursing, and Psychology.
The cost of Ignite varies between $2,305 for a 4-course full tuition year and $3,367 for a 6-course full tuition year.

Homeschool Connections is a Catholic homeschool curriculum providing LIVE video lessons for all subjects and grades.
They offer engaging weekly lessons and automatic grading, making things easy for parents.
In addition to pre-recorded classes like BJU Press and Abeka, Homeschool Connections provides a decent range of LIVE classes, including:
- Language & Writing,
- Languages (including Latin),
- Math,
- History and Geography,
- Biology,
- Theology,
- and more.

Apologia – Online LIVE Homeschool Classes
Apologia is a comprehensive curriculum that covers almost all subjects, including an excellent creation science video homeschool curriculum for all grade levels.
The provider offers three types of formats:
- self-paced (most affordable),
- pre-recorded video lessons (affordable), and
- LIVE online classes (most expensive).
Apologia is known for teaching critical thinking skills to prepare students for the future.
The cost of LIVE classes starts with a $50 registration fee per course plus $300 to $700 per course.
Power Homeschool Curriculum with Videos
Power Homeschool offers a video homeschool curriculum, which is unaccredited.
They use the basic Acellus technology, which pinpoints student weaknesses and helps them improve their learning by targeting their weak areas.
It will also move students on if they know the material.
Their program is a fun, interactive, virtual video-based curriculum.
They also provide Acellus Academy, which is less affordable, and a Tutoring option for school students.
Schoolhouse Teachers – Some Video Lessons
Schoolhouse Teachers is among the best Christian homeschooling curriculum providers for large families or children with varying interests.
This curriculum offers ALL its material for a single fee (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
Unlimited curriculum resources mean if you have a large homeschooling family and need to find a curriculum for them, you can get this for all your children for around $200.

Union Gospel Press (Bible Video Curriculum for Homeschool)
Video Bible homeschool curriculums have been gaining popularity recently due to their flexibility and convenience.
