My Father’s World: A Popular Eclectic Homeschool Curriculum
Perhaps the most well-known eclectic homeschool curriculum is My Father’s World. This curriculum is one of my favorites as it seems to have everything I love about many of the methods in it.
It teaches children Latin (classical methods), incorporates habit training (Charlotte Mason), and encourages a lot of hands-on learning (Unit Studies). The program is infused throughout with solid Christian thinking, as it teaches children to have a biblical worldview in all areas of their thinking.
This eclectic curriculum is a complete, hardcopy program. For all that, it’s quite inexpensive compared to other programs. In addition, students can complete the work swiftly. It’s well worth checking out.
Tapestry of Grace: A Liberal Eclectic Curriculum
If you love Charlotte Mason and Classical Education and want to incorporate these homeschool methods into your curriculum, you have to check out Tapestry of Grace (by Lampstand Press).
The program offers you a Christian, Classical, and Charlotte Mason education. The creators write with a mindset of helping students see the pattern of God’s personality and works.
This eclectic homeschool curriculum will be loved by some and not-so-loved by others. As Tapestry says:
The last twenty-something years have taught us that Tapestry of Grace will sing for some—and strike the wrong note for others.
